OnePlace offers you the opportunity to listen to many of your favorite ministries online whenever it fits your schedule. You can use the search function to find messages which focus on the specific topic that is foremost in your mind at the time. Many of the ministries, in addition to allowing you to listen online, will also allow you to download an MP3 file of the program FREE of charge. There is also a section of this website which offers Bible study resources including Greek and Hebrew lexicons. An excellent resource which really does provide almost everything for the Christian listener in one place.

Best of the Web: Christian Classics Ethereal Library

"The Christian Classics Ethereal Library is a digital library of hundreds of classic Christian books selected for edification and education." The http://www.ccel.org/ website is maintained by Calvin College. Many of the texts included here will be most useful to those who wish to study Christianity with an academic focus. However, the site also includes texts such as Billy Graham's Peace With God, Oswald Chamber's My Utmost for His Highest and John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress. Each text is available to be be read online free of charge. There are also subscription options which allow for downloading materials from the site. In addition, the site includes a hymnary which provides the sheet music for classic and hard-to-find hymns. You can also locate the text of many hymnals including those used in the Lutheran and Episcopal churches. The text of each book included is fully searchable.

Did you know that Lutheran, Anglican, and Presbyterian churches all read the same lessons on any given Sunday? It's true! Used by all three denominations, the Revised Common Lectionary is set up so that the entire Bible is read in worship services over a three-year period. At http://www.textweek.com/, you can find links to the Proper and Ordinary readings used in those denominations as well as commentaries on the lessons and prepared sermons. Missed church this Sunday or need to write a sermon for Advent I? Use this site to find your text in one convenient spot, or to do sermon research, or catch up on the lessons you missed. Even if your church doesn't use the Revised Common Lectionary, TextWeek is a good source of information to put a spin on your daily devotions of keep up on what other Christians are studying.

I have not opened up a Bible in my home for over a year now! That is not to say that I do not read the Bible. Every morning I boot up my computer and go directly to
www.biblegateway.com/. This website offers over 21 English translations of the Bible along with the entire text of the Bible in languages such as Spanish, French, German, Korean, Russian, Arabic, etc. A complete list of the available versions can be found here: http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/

Along with the text of the Bible, there are other study tools. One of my favorite aspects of Biblegateway is that several of the translations are offerered in an audio format. Listening to the text read aloud can add another dimension of understanding for both advanced and struggling readers alike.

http://www.studylight.org/ is one-stop-shopping for many of your reference and Bible study needs. Traditional reference texts, though useful, are often bulky and expensive tomes that are not even allowed to leave the library. This site contains an entire reference collection including encyclopedias, devotionals, commentaries, reading plans, concordances and a parallel Bible in which you can choose your translations (and language). There are also forums for Bible study discussion. Best of all, it's fully to accessible from any computer with an internet connection!
